Sen. Green speaks to civics classes
Lansing—Sen. Mike Green, R-Mayville, visited Cass City High School on Friday and spoke to the sophomore class. Earlier in the year, as a project in civics class, many of the students had sent Green issue-oriented letters.
"I applaud the students and their teachers for having a strong interest in the issues facing our state," Green said. "I was especially impressed with how well-informed the students were on such a broad range of issues. It’s a real credit to them and the excellent job their dedicated teachers are doing."
The day included a tour of the school’s agricultural training building, which is completely supported by local donations.
"Their ag programs were impressive. They are a great example of the innovative curriculum schools districts provide, particularly through public-private partnerships," Green said.
The day’s events were coordinated by Linda Volz, a teacher at Cass City High School.
