LANSING—State Sen. Mike Green is reminding residents that this year’s free fishing weekend is set for June 11-12, providing a great opportunity to relax with family and friends while enjoying Michigan’s fresh water resources.
“I encourage everyone, from the most experienced anglers to those new to fishing, to take advantage of this great opportunity to experience Michigan’s outdoors,” said Green, R-Mayville. “This annual event is the perfect time for residents and visitors to enjoy fishing our many lakes and rivers.”
During the weekend, all fishing license fees will be waived, but all fishing regulations still apply.
Michigan offers some of the finest freshwater fishing in the world, with more than 3,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, more than 11,000 inland lakes and 36,350 miles of rivers and streams.
